Raga Marwa
With Erena Shingade and Mishti Boy, 2024
I’m a writer living in Titirangi, Aotearoa New Zealand, and am working on a PhD (Philosophy) thesis taking theories of peoplehood as my focus. Broadly, I write at the interface of art and politics.
I run Spoor Books with Erena Shingade, and occasionally, I perform Hindustani classical music. I’m also putting together a resource that introduces scholars and students to contemporary Indian social and political philosophy.
In 2000, our family migrated from Hyderabad, where I was born, to Tāmaki Makaurau. Upon graduating with an MFA from Elam School of Fine Arts,
I worked as a contemporary art curator and writer. I turned to philosophy in 2020 to write an MLitt (Philosophy) thesis on the epistemic dimension of Indigenous-settler relations, which you can read here.
